Exclamation Wii update problem?

Hi all,
I got my Wii last month and have downloaded a couple of games. But some of the games ask me for update. How can I play it? Am I suppose to do an update like what the game says? Please help me out I have been looking all over the forum and still dont know what to do.

1 more thing. What is PAL and MUTI 5? The games I downloaded are pretty much PAL and Muti5.

Thx alot.

I'm assuming you have a modchip installed in your Wii to enable you to play burned games. PAL is actually a Video standard, but let keep things simple and just say that it indicates the Region of the Wii. So PAL Wii are ones that are sold in Europe, NTSC-U Wii are ones sold in USA/Canada and NTSC-J are ones sold in Japan. So if your Wii is PAL and you have a PAL game then there is no harm in updating, but if your Wii is NTSC and your game is PAL then DO NOT update as it will brick your Wii. You can use a tool such as wiu1.1 to remove the update from the iso before burning it.

multi 5 is the dvd version you burn games on (bascially the standard 4.7GB ones) the other is multi 9 which is a dual layer disc.

I would suggest you update your Wii from within the settings menu in the wii. the current version works with all games and there is no risk. So once you'll be up to date with 3.3 you wont see those update messages on your games anymore!

Also if you are interest in getting the Homebrew channel then I suggest you do that before updateing to 3.3 as its a lot easier to install using the DVD iso method.
