Maybe bitsetting is required for that to work...
Couldn't hurt to try, could it?

Mine works, including SSE, and as said, I used ImgBurn, Verbatim +R DL, 4x, layerbreak and ImgBurn probably remembered the time I used bitsetting, so I probably had bitsetting as well. (just Google 'bitsetting imgburn', you'll find lots of guides)

Us

Hey guys,

I have a D2B Wii with a D2Pro 5 wire solderless chip and firmware 3.3 USA (downloaded form the internet). I have made many successful burns with Nero at 4x on Staples DVD+R media with a Lite-On burner. I burned Mario Kart Wii (NTSC USA) and after the splash screen int he channel, it loads to a black screen and hangs there. I read online that I need to run SSBB WITH the update taht comes with it before i can play Mario Kart Backup. I have what i assume is an NTSC version of SSBB (Wiu and BrickBlocker both say it is NTSC). It says there is an update along with the game. What steps should i take so SSBB and Mario Kart Wii will both work? Do i need the Layerbreak and/or bitsetting and setting booktype? i purchased Verbatim DVD+R DL for my SSBB burn which ihave not used yet. Will it be safe to update my wii from the SSBB game when it loads? How can i be sure it does not brick my wii? I am already upgraded to the latest (3.3) from the internet. Should i remove the update from SSBB before burning?

Terribly sorry for the long post but i wanted to incluse all relevant information so you all would have everything to respond as quickly as possible. I'm Waiting to play!

Thanks Alot!

I have a d2pro and ssbb and am having issues with the white screen of death. Atm im trying to fix this, with help from the community.

Here are my results so far:

Apparently the layer break should be set to 2084960 the original image was set to 2077920, imgburn lets you check it in 'view media information'.

To change the layer break ive gone into imgburn->build mode, selected the original image with wrong LB and recreated the image with the new LB.

To do this I went into imgburn -> mode -> build ->advanced->media, changed double layer profile to custom and min & max L0 sectors to 2084960, media capacity was 4169920.

It is was extreamly complicated and time consuming, it was no where near as simple as going into tools->settings->write tab->user specified layer options like everyone has suggested so far.

Now, im still trying to figure this out. Im hoping for the best expecting the worst.

If there is anyone out there who can confirm what ive done and finds that it works let me know asap.

/just confirmed it myself, cant even read the damn dvd; there are a few black dots on it due to finger prints but I do not think that is the reason
Cheers - sting
