im a newbie so this may sound completely stupid but....
do i really need to update my wii? what exactly does updating involve? can;t i just play the games with a modchip and not update? and what is bricking?
no you don't have to update, but in order to play newer games you will need to update as they fix bugs and add new features. Brick mean that your wii will become useless like a paper weight aka a CEMENT BRICK.
