I was wondering, is it a MUST to use an LG drive when using friidump? Or are there other drives that are compatible? Also, is there a better way of dumping wii discs? Any info would be greatly apprciated.

you can rip it with an SD card thru a GC SD adaptor using the GC memory ports on top..... still bit of a hassle though
