Us where to buy soldering iron & wires?

Hi, I'm a noob. First time modder. Plan to buy modchip and materials and do it myself. Any suggestion where & what kind of soldering iron and wires are needed? Any additional materials? Any help is much appreciated.

If you are a first time modder and not an avid solderer....I would highly suggest you not try to mod the wii yourself. The points that you have to solder are really small and you can easily bridge them together and screw up your wii....People have also lifted pads on the wii by not soldering correct...If you are not a really good solderer I would suggest going the Solderless chip route...Good luck on your quest....

Send a message via MSN to ModderMan
there are complete install tuts everywhere depending what modchip you use...some require just the 30awg...some require a few different guages of wire

but overall a needle tip lower wattage soldering iron using 30 awg for all points except the power and ground points.... (those use a heavier wire)

Everything you need can be found at radioshack, although not all of them carry the materials all of the time. I had to go to three radioshacks before i was able to get the 30 awg kynar wire. But for this particular project, since you don't solder much, I would say get a 15watt iron. With a 15 watt you have less of a chance of screwing things up. Also get the thinnest tip they have, and a magnifying glass to check on your soldering job when you're done. Also practice before you start sticking solder on your wii. Find an old circuit board and just have fun soldering points together.
