How to burn Wii games correctly with IMGBURN

A common mistake of those who use IMGBURN is that they adjust the writing speed to 4x (for Wii Games), but always forget to adjust the speed for the type of DVD disc used while burning and the speed adjustment of the drive.

Here's what to do:

1. Put your blank DVD-R (it doesn't matter if you use the cheap ones) in the DVD drive. Let IMGBURN read the type of DVD you are using. After it recognize the DVD, click on the green running man at the right of the speed setup.(See thumbnail 1)

2. After this you will see a window where you will add the DISC ID by clicking on the green arrow besides the DISC ID max speed. Then set the max speed of the DISC ID to 4x.
Do the same with the DEVICE. Specify the device you will use and set the speed to 4x. Click add or update to ensure the info is in the top part of the window.
At the end click OK. (See thumbnail 2)

3. You must be now back in the main window. Browse for your iso. Make sure also the write speed is at 4x in this window. Now start burning your DVD game(See thumbnail 3)

It works flawlessly. Good Luck.

Store wii WBFS drives as a single files on your PC

Hello all,

First of all I am very new to this, maybe this has been covered already, I did search for the keyword TrueCrypt and found nothing...

Using truecrypt to create virtual encrypted drives, I have discovered it is possible to format them with WBFS and move wii files to/from them.
When creating a drive with Truecrypt, it actually just creates a file on the filesystem and presents it as a drive to the OS.

This is what I used to validate this works.

This is what I used to validate this works.

[Only Registered Users Can See Links. Click Here To Register] to create a 20GB drive.
[Only Registered Users Can See Links. Click Here To Register] to format and move wii backups.
a 64GB ocz rally2 USB stick

This is what I did.

Created a 20GB NTFS drive using TrueCrypt and mounted it as drive W (any free drive letter is fine)
Note: When creating using truecrypt, select the "Large Files" option, this then defaults to creating a NTFS drive

Formated my USB stick to NTFS

Loaded wbfsManager and used it to:

1. formatted the 20GB W: drive to WBFS and loaded it.
2. Copied some wii iso backups onto the 20GB drive.
3. selected and formatted the 64GB USB drive to WBFS
4. Loaded 20GB W: drive as the main and 64GB USB as the 2nd drive
5. Clicked on the Clone button to copy everything

Note: Before step 4 I had to restart wbfsManager

Tested the USB stick in a hacked wii (3.4 used the tut on this site :) ), worked perfectly.

This means people can have WBFS drives of any size as a single files on their PC...
Maybe some people will find this convenient, so I am sharing the knowledge :)

***To whoever handles the user submitted guides. This is the other part of the Triiforce user guide (I had to split it into two posts because it has too many pictures). I didn't know that when I submitted the guide I wouldn't be able to see it to add a follow up post to it, so please don't take this as a separate guide.***

Step 6. Creating Game Pictures for Triiforce

If you can't find an image file for the game you can create one using a simple program called ShowMiiWads. For this example, I am using the Japanese PC Engine Dracula X wad.

1. Download the program from the link above.

2. Go to the File menu and select Open Folder.

3. Navigate to the folder with your wad files. Your wad files should load up in the list (as shown below).

4. Select the wad file from the list that you want to create a picture from.

NOTE: You will want to write down the code shown in the Title ID field. This is what you must name the image you are going to create or else triiforce will not be able to load the image for the specific game. In this example, the code is QAPJ

5. Go to the Edit menu and select Preview.

6. A window will open up with two list boxes at the bottom. You can cycle through these list boxes until you find an ideal image.

NOTE: The size of the image below is 256 x 192 pixels which is too big for Triiforce. The maximum size an image can be is 192 x 112 pixels.

Also, the files must be in .PNG format. (I haven't tested to see if other formats even work)

7. Click on the save button and name the image with the code you got from the Title ID field for the game in Step 6-4 above.

8. Next, create a folder called triiforce_mrc in the root of your SD card. This is the directory that Triiforce looks in for game image files.

9. Copy the image file you created for the game into this directory.

Step 7. Playing Games in Triiforce

Now that we have some games installed and the icons that triiforce will use, it's time to play some games!

1. Start up Triiforce using the forwarder.

2. You will be shown a prompt on the bottom of the screen that says < Use USB-NAND >. Press left on the directional pad of the controller until you see < Use SD-NAND > and press A.

Note: If you used the AUTO SD LOAD file from step 2 of this guide. You will not have to select SD-NAND. Triiforce will automatically load to the game menu.

3. Triiforce MRC will load and you should see all of your games like in the example below.

4. You can not use the pointer to select a game in Triiforce. You must use the directional pad. If you move to the left or right, you will be able to cycle through the different pages full of your Wii Ware games.

5. If you want to reorder the games select the game you want to move and press 1 or 2 on the controller. If you want to swap the game with another, select the other game and press 1. The games will swap positions in your list. If you want to just move a file into a position in the list, highlight the file you want to move, press 2 and then highlight where you want the game to be moved to and press 2 again.

6. Once you have ordered your games, press the home button on the controller and select Save Changes to SD. If you do not save the changes, the order of your games will revert to what it originally was.

Note:If you are using the original .dol file (the one where you have to manually select SD-NAND), you may get a code dump if you try to exit to Homebrew. If you are using the AUTO_SD_LOAD version from Step 2, the Wii will restart instead when you exit.

(Note to self, replace picture... :p)

6. Click on a game title to load it up and have fun!

Thanks to:
- Nicksasa, TheLemonMan and WiiPower for creating the awesome Triiforce app.
- marc_max for creating the Triiforce MRC program.
- Nicksasa again for SimpleFSDumper.
- Waninkoko for WadManager.
- ZX81 for the Wad2nand app.
- tripellex for the wad2nand batch file.
- Leathl for the ShowMiiWads app.

How to Use ISO image file to Create DVD

When you have several .ISO files you have either downloaded from the Internet or saved as .iso files on your hard disk, and you want to *burn the ISO image file to DVD Discs* (http://www.imediacreator.com/iso/burn-iso-to-dvd-disc-on-mac.html#128) to play on DVD Player, before burning, you need to prepare for a disc and an iso burner tool.

When you have several .ISO files you have either downloaded from the Internet or saved as .iso files on your hard disk, and you want to [Only Registered Users Can See Links. Click Here To Register] to play on DVD Player, before burning, you need to prepare for a disc and an iso burner tool.
:)

What is ISO File?
ISO is a disk image defined by the International Organization for Standardization. ISO image files typically have a file extension of ISO. The name ISO is taken from the ISO 9660 file system used with CD-ROM media, but an ISO image can also contain UDF file system because UDF is backward-compatible with ISO 9660. An ISO file contains the image of a disk, meaning that it contains every file and folder that the disk had.

How to Burn ISO Image Files to DVD on Mac OS X?
To burn ISO image files to sorts of discs(burn iso to dvd-r, burn iso to dvd+r, burn iso to dvd-rw, burn iso to dvd+rw, etc.) on Mac, you can use ISO to DVD Burner for Mac, which is a professional iso burner tool to burn iso image files to dvd on mac os x, especially on Snow Leopard.

You can [Only Registered Users Can See Links. Click Here To Register]

Step1. Add ISO Files to the program

After installing and running the program, you need to choose “ISO” to import file, then it will remind you “Drag ISO movie image here to start”, also you can click to add your ISO Files to the program. See the interface below:

Step2. Burn ISO File to DVD Disc
Now you can start to [Only Registered Users Can See Links. Click Here To Register]now, also you can see there are 2 methods you can choose to output: D5 and D9. Usually we choose D9 Disc to Burn.

Tips: How to Choose DVD Disc to Output your DVD File?
There are 4 different DVD Disc now in market. D9 and D5 is the most common Disc to save Video movies. And the size of them can be a little bit confusing for users. There are basically 4 different DVD Sizes.

DVD-5 (Single Side Single Layer)
D5 holds around 4 700 000 000 bytes and that is 4.37 computer GB where 1 kbyte is 1024 bytes* . DVD+R/DVD+RW and DVD-R/DVD-RW support this format. This is the most common DVD Media, often called 4.7 GB Media. A DVD-5 disc will hold nominally 133 minutes of high quality MPEG-2 encoded video, together with three surround-sound audio channels and four subtitle channels. (Without video compression one DVD-5 disc would hold only about 3 minutes of video).

DVD-10 (Dual Side Single Layer)
D10 holds around 9 400 000 000 bytes and that is 8.75 computer GB. DVD+R/DVD+RW and DVD-R/DVD-RW support this format. A DVD-10 disc will hold a nominal 133 minutes on each side (ie 266 minutes in all), but the disc needs to be turned over to play the other side.

DVD-9, (Single Side Dual Layer)
D9 holds around 8 540 000 000 bytes and that is 7.95 computer GB. DVD+R support this format. This media is called DVD+R9, DVD+R DL or 8.5 GB Media. A DVD-9 (dual layer) disc and hold 240 minutes of continuous video.

DVD-18, ( Dula side Dual Layer )
D18 holds around 17 080 000 000 bytes and that is 15.9 computer GB. DVD+R supports this format. DVD -18 can hold 240 minutes on each side and the disc needs to be turned over to play the other side.

ISO to DVD Burner now can support to [Only Registered Users Can See Links. Click Here To Register], Burn ISO to DVD-R, Burn ISO to DVD+ R, you can choose the DVD Disc which you want to burn, with simple and practical edit functions!
