I just installed my Wasabi DX. It runs everything original and I can enter the configuration menu with the 3 eject thing. Anything I burn though (backups and firmware updates) gives me the error. Any idea what I'm doing wrong? I am using Verbatim DVD-R 4.7gb 16x. I am burning with ImgBurn at 1x write speed. Any help would be appreciated.

I initially got a black screen upon loading in disc channel. I tried manually installing through wadmanager 1.4 the IOS33 wad but getting a -1035 error. I tried loading in gecko os but the screen is unwatchable and only in black and white (I'm thinking bec. it's PAL and I have an NTSC console). I seem to be having a problem with my recently purchased Wasabi DX and i was wondering if anybody had any ideas about how to sort these problems out.

I installed the chip as per the instructions i was given and also found on the net, the chip works fine at playing original games and backup copies when selected from the wii disc channel. Unfortunately i cant seem to update the chip, when i burn the 1.2 update disc from wasabi it appears as a game cube game in the disc channel, it loads up to the first screen where it says "press reset to start programming" and then it locks up. At this point both red and green leds are lit and they stay that way until the wii is turned off when it once again plays backups and originals. I have burnt the disk on Verbatim -R twice and have even tried it in recovery mode with dip switch 4 set to on but with no luck.

The other problem i seem to be having is accessing the configuration menu. when i press eject 3 times nothing happens at all other than all the leds on the chip turning off, it doesn't put the disc in the disc channel either


I hope someone has some ideas what could be wrong, as i'm tearing my hair out here because i'm trying to use the chip to fix my other banner bricked wii but i need to enable the autoupdate first

This whole firmware update, wii versions, black screens of death and all makes me confused as i don't understand that much of it, lol.

So i wanted someone to tell me what they think waht i should do. 'Cause my wii has the ver. 3.4E on it and I wanted to play Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Echoes of Time, but when i get it into the wii it askes me for an update. I don't know if me updating the system will cause some games to stop working or get them to show me the black screen or something and that gets me a little worried on doing it (but i'm still a little eager to do it 'cause i really want to play the game ;) )

The Wii will boot to the main menu but the drive doesn't spin up and disks can't be ejected. The Wii works fine when the chip is removed again. I've watched a bunch of install videos and done a fair bit of console/PC hardware work before so I KNOW the ****ing thing is installed correctly. I would appreciate any help about the error that I'm getting, but first I'll tell you what I have:
Wii console PAL version 4.1E
Modchip WasabiDX - atleast this is what I asked to be installed
USB loader from TeknoConsole 1.5
And there is a NeoGamma Softchip also installed for testing.

The issue is that some games works fine when loading them streight through the USB Loader (like Guitar Hero World Tour).
But when I try to load a game like "Wii Fit Plus" from the USB Loader I get Error 002. Testing the same game from the SoftChip it works loading it from the HDD.
BTW, I've tried WiiScrubber and there is no Error 002 in "Wii Fit Plus" so I cannot apply any fix to it too.

So these are my questions:
1. how can i be sure that the WasabiDX is installed (without openning the console
2. Why do I get the Error 002 loading the game with the WasabiDX, is there something to configure?

I cannot get the Wii to play backup games at all. I have burnt several PAL isos and get disc read errors every time, for the most part the wii doesnt even recognise what game it is. (The only game I have managed to get further in interestingly is an NTSC backup, this one was recognised, loaded and then got a disc read error after asking me to insert the nunchuck.)

My Wii is running 4.1 firmware and I have updated the chip to 2.0 beta.

The media I am using are Maxell DVD-R, single layer.

Sorry for rambling but hopefully someone can help me better with all the details. I would be very greatful if someone could advise me what to try next.

I have installed a wasabi dx modchip but it seems it can't read back-up discs, I keep on getting errors. I knew I successfully installed the chip because I was able to go through the configuration settings. The originals is playing fine only the back-ups don't. I hooked it up and no power light will come on. Checked connection a million times and no change. When I put an original in, the red/green lights come on, but as soon as I put a copy in the lights go out. I am using good media that I have used on my other wii with a wasabi zero, so I know it should work. It doesn't recognize the 1.2 firmware disc I burned, I tried the eject button thing to get to the menu and no luck there. It's a 3.1u wii ntsc system and just trying ntsc back up games that work on another system.
