    District 9

One movie Iíve been looking forward to this summer ever since we first started getting info on it, is District 9, the sci-fi documentary-style film by the folks who were supposed to make the Halo film adaptation. Just by this trailer all I can say is wow! Judge for your self.

Refreshing to have a sci fi movie 1) not made in Hollywood and 2) actually have the native accent of the country of origin - ie South Africa.
Ironic that an Alien slum is built near one of the largest slums in the world.

I watched this on DVD a few days ago. Pretty good sci fi movie, storyline was excellent, same with the acting. However, I'm not a big fan of sci fi, especially weird violent ones that try to make you vomit or shock the audience. But District 9 was still good and I enjoyed it. Really hope they come out with a sequel.

Same here - just watched it on DVD. I'm sure it came across as the director intended but it was to rough and dirty for me. I donít like the handy cam way of filming and the story had to many holes in it.

Still not bad for a DVD - would not have gone to cinema to see it

Likewise I watched this recently, thought it was quite different and I ended up liking it a lot. It was a bit gruesome and documentary style which was different too. I read that there will be a sequel if it makes enought money at the box office, which Ithink it did.

Yeah I found it entertaining. Definitely not the style of movie I was expecting going into the theatre, but a nice surprise. I wouldn't mind watching it again.
