    Angry Netflix Sucks!

Hey everyone. Anyone have Netflix? Your opinion? My opinion is they suck.

Now, I'll give them this: they are a cheap movie business and they work fast and great. It's really convenient.

The thing is, they never have ANYTHING! What they do have is the newer movies, but they all suck. All the OLDER movies are just crappy B-movies. For instance:

If you look up American Pie, you won't find the REAL MOVIE. You'll just find all its crappy sequels. Also, I can't find any of the good movies.

Not to mention, whenever a show is on there they're usually missing a lot of the seasons or episodes.

Nowadays, most movie rental services that aren't digital or by mail are being closed down. BOTH Blockbusters in my town were closed, and I was a frequent customer! I always rented games, movies, bought sodas or other things there. And they always had my favorite selections! Now I'm stuck with Netflix.

    What do you think, WiiHacks?

My honest opinion it's not needed ."If your Wii is Soft Modded."
You can just transfer the movies you own to your HDD and use the Fabulous WiiMc Player.

    Just my opinion.

The only thing that does suck...Is that you have to wait to purchase the Dvd's.

if netflix sucks, what can you say about cable? For me netflix + hulu + usenet works well. I hate cable.

I have 4 kids, netflix has a lot for the kids.

I don't have an HDD, or Netflix on my Wii. I don't like the interface for it or the one on the PS3, I use my Xbox.

Cable has a variety of things for everyone, and gets stuff at least a month before Netflix. I'm 15, I don't watch kid shows and neither do a lot of people using Netflix. I feel like most of the things on Netflix aren't for a lot of people. I feel like Netflix narrows its target users to parents, which is a bunch of bullcrap. The only thing I find good about Netflix is it has up to season 15 of South Park, as well as other TV shows that I like. I know they are limited to what seasons have been released to DVD, but some shows don't even have a lot of the seasons.

EDIT: So I did some searches, and apparently some movies are missing:
    Pulp Fiction
    The Thing
    The Pursuit of Happyness
    Forrest Gump
    The Dark Knight
    Gamer
    Final Destination 1, 3, 4
Child's Play 2 through Seed Of Chucky
    Scary Movie 2, 3, 4
Scream (2 and 3 Are On There, But Not The Original?)
    ALL Nightmare on Elm Street
Friday The 13th Part 5 (A Bit Random)
American Pie (As I Said Earlier)
Two-Thousand Maniacs and 2001 Maniacs (Field Of Screams is there, though)
    Freddy VS Jason
Evil Dead II + Army of Darkness

My point is, these movies may not be the most popular, but they do have a large fanbase (Except maybe Two-Thousand Maniacs) and Netflix is neglecting them. Instead of just targeting family, EVERYONE should be targeted.

    that's just a few.

I totally agree, I downloaded Netflix from the Wii Shop Channel and was not impressed by the selection that it offered, didn't sign up, would never sign up and deleted the channel from the Wii Menu. Either it had too much of what I'd seen a million times before or too much of what I wouldn't want to see in the first place. And also they started charging me without making sure I wanted to continue for a second month (which I didn't).

What copyright law states that they can't use their movies? If Blockbuster could use movies AND games, as well as Gamefly letting people download cheap versions of PC games let alone get the games, then Netflix can do the same at least with their movies.

Big movie companies make quite a bit of money from places like redbox, blockbuster, netflix, etc and also from cable/satellite channels such as Starz, HBO, MAX, and Showtime. Every one of these have to pay a blanket license fee in the tens if not hundreds of millions of dollars range. This gives the provider (i.e HBO) the "rights" to play certain movies that are covered in the license. As an end user, just for the four cable stations listed above you would have to pay at least $50 per month. Then there are the TV series from all the major networks, History, Discovery, Disney, Nickelodeon etc etc, everyone wanting their fair share. Some of those charge the cable companies $2-$3 per subscriber to carry the station.

At $8 a month for unlimited watching, Netflix does not have the financial resources to pay all the fees required to give you absolutely everything. No one would pay $15 each for HBO and Showtime if they could get it all for $8 from Netflix. That wouldn't make good business sense.

For the price paid, IMHO Netflix is awesome. Yes there are a lot of kids shows. I have kids, and they love it. I also enjoy watching a lot of the older TV series. It may not be on the cutting edge of movie titles, but you get what you pay for. If you want all that other stuff, you spend $150 a month on cable/satellite and another $50 on pay-per-view. (Yes, I spend $130 on DirecTV)

That is spelled out pretty obviously when signing up for the first time, that you must cancel or you will be charged. Why else would you have to give credit card info initially? That is the direction online services have been taking for years when offering free trials. Amazon Prime, all the "Free Credit Report" places, just to name a few. 20 years ago the Book companies did that, and they still do. Get one or two free in the mail, if you don't cancel they will autobill you and ship a new one every month blah blah.

    /end rant

    Netflix FTW

Maybe it is "spelled out" when you sign up but I don't remember reading that at all.
