    VBA GX save state problem

Whenever I reload an SRAM save state, it just restarts the game. I'm using 2.2.5 and I have the rom and save folders in the right directories. When I look in the save folders, I see the save files I made, but they don't load. Is there any way to fix this?

EDIT: nevermind. turns out i was supposed to save it as a snapshot, instead of sram.

SRAM is a save type that emulates an in-game save method, where as a snapshot is literally a snapshot of your current game session which is useful because you can save at any point in the game as you are not restricted to the game's own saving methods.. though it is easily corrupted and also ive accidentally auto saved over my snapshot many times loosing much progress.

SRAM saving works perfectly well, and the reason it failed for you is because you did not save your game in~ game. do that first and then save as SRAM. SRAM saves will allow you to load your game through the in game menu rather then loading snapshot via VBA GX menu. it's best to set auto save and auto load to SRAM for use with VBA GX.
just remember to not turn off your wii after saving in game.. you still have to bring up the home screen for VBAGX in order to update your previous SRAM save state.
(you will see NO confirmation of this SRAM save update but you can check by clicking "load" and noticing the SRAM save's time/date)

    Not working

I've been attempting this over the past week, and SRAM save states are NOT working. I'm loading ROMs off a USB drive. Saves are stored and loaded from the USB drive also.

I attempted this on Dragon Quest I and just started playing Dragon Quest II. Start the game, do the usual stuff, go kill some stuff, go back to king, save quest. Load up menu, save an SRAM. Done. Reset game, get to load screen, load Dragon Quest II... nothing saved. Not even my in-game file. Snapshots work fine. SRAM is kind of borked. I can see the SRAM files. The time/dates match up, but loading it simply resets the game and wipes out any progress made.

    Am I doing something wrong?
