Yes, I know. I am actually in the process of reading them now. I was just trying to share a quick update on my progress. Darkcide and Krank have both been extremely helpful to me.

I used to have a decent MAME set-up and really enjoyed it. Then I lost that box in a storm, even though it was protected. Long story short I am trying to rebuild my MAME set-up with my new desktop box. I have two major issues. One, is MAME management (i.e. CLRMAME) while the second is what to use as a decent front end in a Windows environment.
After reading the guide I decided to put a couple of emulators and roms on my HDD. No success. I guess I need to double check everything that I did. I went into both HBC and USB Loader and did not see anything on my HDD.
The joy of modding is all the little challenges and twists along the way. Nothing like gaining knowledge.
Not all emulators are capable of running off of USB. That's part of why I usually stick to SD/SDHC. That and it's more convenient to pop a SD card in and out of the slot than screw around with my HDD.
I agree. Messing with an USB HDD all the time when I have my Wii back-ups on a USB HDD. Too watch swapping. I have a 4 GB SD waiting in the wings. I guess I should take a step back and just get a couple up and running on the SD card first. While I have a ton of ROMs, it doesn't mean that I will play them all or need them all at once.
