    load snes roms from dvd?

is it possible to have the snes emulator on a sd card and have the roms loading from a dvd in the drive? it might sound daft but i only have a 2gb sd card and i want alot of roms. so i was thinking that if i just had the emulator app on my sd card i could hopefully play the roms from a dvd.

    same question for other emulators.

Ummm, very doubtful since udf is a specific file system, unless you can find an app that is capable of reading it. Best bet is to go to wiibrew and read about and ask your questions there.

Good luck getting the emulator to read a DVD with roms on it, I wasted many DVDs trying to get that working. I use SMB to load the roms from a usb hdd attached to my computer.

I have a 2GB sd card and have more than enough room to get all snes roms on there. Just a thought. A new sd card could make a world of difference.

Well i was going to ask if anyone knew how to burn the roms onto disc. I tried once and failed. I burned it with imgburn. settings were iso 9660, i also burned it with a roms folder. I didnt know if the folder had to be there or if it was just the roms to get burned themselves. Also i didnt verify the disc. is that a problem?
And i burned it at 2x speed on a dvd-r.

does anyone know where i went wrong?

p.s in the emulator there are options to run roms from dvd. so i set it to do that but kept getting an error

The latest version of the SNES emulator claims to have fixed loading from DVD, but then so did other versions of the emulator. I have never seen anybody post and state that they have sucsessfully loaded roms from a DVD using the Wii (SNES) emulator. I guess first thing, is your Wii capable of backup discs? Wii's manufactured from December of 2009 will not read burned discs. It is probably best to use a 2nd SD card with just your roms installed, or try a USB HDD or USB memory stick, or SMB. I think that loading things from disc are going to be a thing of the past unless there is a work around for the currently manufactured Wii's that will not read a backup disc of any sort.

32GB is a bit overkill. If I recall right, every atari, nes, gb/gba/gbcolor, snes, and genesis game rom will ALL fit on a 2GB sd card. You can get get a 2gb card for about 5 USB... (Which equals what? 1 quid or whatever you brits say, lol)
