    neo geo

does anybody know what happen to these project neogeo and neogeo cd emulator; both had some awesome games and sadly both project died a while ago leaving an emulator that isn't totally functional. which is a shame. does anybody know of a neogeo and neo cd emulator in the works? heck i would defiantly donate to a project working on those 2. especially if it has loading from usb/sd support.

I would love to have a fully functional Neo Geo CD emulator for the Wii. My CDZ died a few months back, so my games have been getting no use.

As a huge Neo Geo fan myself, it's disappointing there isn't an emulator for it (as far as I know), but a great alternative to playing Neo Geo favorites is through injected wads. There's a thread on it at wiiso. Check out their "injected vc games" section. If you can't find it through a google search, you can PM me for more help.

    -Wii Menu 4.2U / DARKCORP v1.1 / BootMii as boot2 / Preloader v0.30-
    -USB HDD / Wiiflow 2.0 / Triiforce / VC Image-Pack / cIOS Wads-

For me, I mainly want to play the games I own (which I have a lot of). For now, I think I'll just used a PC based emu to play the games.

There is a Neo AES/MVS emulator guys. I couldn't tell you about set up, reliability, or compatibility personally though because I have yet to try it. It looks pretty straight forward from the instructions. I haven't tried it yet because I have a working 2 slot MVS cabinet and just about every game worth playing on it so Neo emulation hasn't been that high on my list of wii priorities.

GxGeo sadly doesn't support playing Neo Geo CD titles.

I tried that Emu but even though I had the correct BIOS, it kept giving me Error msgs. Wish they could have a NeoGeo CD emu. Cant install NeoCD Redux for some reason. Guess it is how my Wii is I guess. Got it with 4.2U, It has the latest Drive Chip as well. The group that makes Wii64/WiiSX said they are working on another EMU but wont inform anyone on what it will run. Some are saying NeoGeoCD, Saturn, DC (would be cool becouse DC can also run NeoGeoCD but everyone says it can be done). Guess we shall see what happens. Supposed to be released before the end of the Year
    I didn't do it!!!! I swear!!!!!
But if I did, I was justified!!!!

Out of curiosity why are you guys obsessed with the Neo CD? You do realize there is no difference in the quality of the cart vs. CD game right? Played side by side they are the exact same with the cart having fast load times. SNK only made the CD system to put games out at a more affordable price and make it more accessible to the average gamer. There are a few MVS carts that I had to spend $600 - $700 dollars on like Last Blade 2 and Bust-A-Move Again back when the Neo was hot and still in the arcade. Sure there are few CD exclusive games but thats about all. Smoker1 where are you getting that the Dreamcast plays Neo CD games from? Trust me...I still have a working Dreamcast and it doesn't by default. There are Dreamcast homebrew Neo-Geo emulators I believe but I've never tried setting up an emulator within an emulator and who knows if the required exploits would even be in a Dreamcast emulator.

Emulation on Sega Dreamcast - EmuWiki
Go to Neo4All. Some CD images will run on a MiniCD but other games are on Full 700MB Disk. Neo4All can work using a MiniCD ( 200MB). Some Images wont have the Background music but does have the Sound Effects. If need be, I can make a Image of the Neo4All and post it for you. It works perfect. I wasnt saying the DC can run NG games right off. Also, I was just mentioning all the possibles from the WiiSX/Wii64 Teams site was saying when they posted their June '10 Progress post and everyone was posting their hopes for what Emu would be next. Me, I am hoping for DC [I]if[I] it is possible. But whatever their next project is, I am sure it will be a great addition.
