Genesis Plus GX USB HDD Issue

*note to moderators: sorry about the double post, I originally put this in the wrong area

    Anyone else use this program?

I have a 500GB MyPassport elite connected to my Wii. I have it partitioned with a 100GB Fat32 partiton and the rest is in WBFS format.

Anyway, FCEU, SNES9x and the other emulators for the Homebrew channel work fine and usually load the games from my USB drive. (All of my programs are installed to the SD card, with the files (i.e. ROMs) on my USB HDD). Occasionally I get a "USB device not found!" error, but when I reload the program it lets me see the device.

Anyway, with Genesis Plus GX.. it never shows me the files on the USB drive. All other programs I use on the Homebrew channel let me see my drive.. why won't this one?

    Any help appreciated!

Don't think it's compatible with usb drives. SD and dvd loading only I believe. More info here (old) and here.

But the program gives you the option to load from USB.. It has SD, USB and the disc drive.

Oh yeah? Didn't know that, ok make sure the folders are named appropriately then for whatever path the app is looking for. For sd cards it's sd:/genplus/roms, so I assume the same is true for usb, but you'd need to double check as I 'm not sure.

Having the same problem. When I click the "USB" button it only shows my SD card again.

I read somewhere that this is due to GenPlusGX being compiled with old libraries that won't read drives that most other apps will? Can anyone confirm this as plausible? I want to know if I will be wasting my time if I recompile all the libraries from the latest source and then compile GenPlusGX myself using them just to make sure my HD will work now X_X

hi, i had this problem too while i was setting up partitions on my 1 tb seagate. which i did just by using the storage manager on win 7. i was like u i had all othe emulators loading from usb but sega. the only way i was able to get it to work was having the fat32 partition as the first one on the hdd. i think its because all the others will search the drive but the genplus just searches the first partition. anyway hope this helps

That makes sense. I have the FAT partition as the second on the hard disk. I didn't think that the various USB loaders would work unless the WBFS partition was the first and primary partition on the disk.

3rd - ntfs partition - the rest lol

and i load genplus, hugo gx, snes9xgx, fceu ultra gx, scummvm, mplayer ce, usb loader gx, and wiiflow. all no probs
