A lot of games that work have messed up sound. PS emulation on the wii still isnt very good:

    Snes9x (SNES) - Works perfectly
GenPlus (Sega Genesis) - Works perfectly
VBA (GameBoy Advance) - Works perfectly
SDL MAME (arcade) - I've only gotten about 10 games to work but most don't
Wii64 (N64) - I've gotten no games to work but I've read that it's only in beta so it may be some time
NeoGeo - doesn't load at all
Turbo Graphix 16 - doesn't load at all
PSx (PlayStation 1) - doesn't load at all

I plan to try the Sega Saturn and Dreamcast emulators but I've read that some games work, some don't, some are slow, some have screen distortions...

I've also found forwarders (makes a Wii channel) for all above that "Works perfectly" but you have to find the correct version or else it always wants you to update. They can be tricky to find but use the emulator name and version in Google.
I have had no problems with the Turbogfx16 emulator that I downloaded from the homebrew browser

I am playing all the games perfectly off USB. Question, has anyone been able to save? Playing Super MArio 64 the kids are and it saves if you continue playing, but when you switch off and on, save are no longer there. Suggestions please, my 6 year old was devistated when he realised he had to start from the start again?

That sucks, same thing happened to me. For some reason It won't save the file...

Edit: Quick solution would be to download the VC wad and install it with wadmanager.
    Damn I suck!!!!

Try searching google with" whatever system your looking for" roms download. Torrent sites have packs of them available. We can't provide direct links.

They are quite easy to get if you take some time and find a good source.
    Damn I suck!!!!

Toadking released a compatibility list for his sdl mame emulator here http://www.toadking.com/wiimame-0.4.txt

For more info on it check SDL MAME Wii - WiiBrew
