The Arcade EMU for the Wii, SDL MAME, has been updated.
How to use
Unzip onto your SD card/USB drive.
Changelog:
• Compiled with libogc 1.8.6, USB loading should be faster now if you have IOS58
• Changed video code around. Most games get a speedup or remain the same from this, but at least one (frogger) is slower for some reason.
• Widescreen support
• Fixed some games giving duplication errors and causing the emulator to exit

Finally! It looks like I have to go back and re-play test some of the titles on my MAME list that I've recently removed for crashing.
can i just swop the boot.dol over to update it?
It doesn't look like a major update so you should be good. Also swap the meta.xml in addition to the boot.dol.Quote:

Compatibility is pretty low . Tried the CPS 1 romset , only 6 were recognised and none worked due to a missing files or CHD error . Do i need a bios file for CPS1 ? I remember not..
No you don't need BIOS for CPS1 and it's probably whatever ROMs you are using. CPS1 support is actually pretty good. CPS2 is so so. CPS3 is out of the question. In all MAME on the Wii will recognize 3042 individual ROMs so I wouldn't quite call compatibility low. Of course out of those 3042 not all will launch and some crash. I'm still play testing so I don't know the exact number that will run without problems yet.Quote:

Reading the Wiki page i saw SDL Mame is based on Mame 0.134 , that's a pretty recent version..
