I can't say there is particular card or drive that works the best but you are more than likely right about one of your cards being faster. I assume they are different classes?

yeah my 2g is a lexar sd card. My 8g is a lexar sdhc wii gaming card. I find mame loads up a little faster on the 2g compared to the sdhc. Plus it seems the games run a little better as well on the 2g sd. i would like to find a 4g sd cause it seems my wii doesnt want to load the sdhc very fast. Also it sucks bad when im loading stuff on the sdhc on my computer. sometimes my cpu takes forever to recgonize the dam thing. The 2g sd loads up perfect and way faster on cpu.
Oh and i had a question. have you played final fight. no matter what version i get it never works. i hope this game can play on wii

    Hi,
I am running SDLMame 0.125 for Wii-linux distro (it's the latest version). All seems to initially work well but I keep getting this error...

    rootfs image: mamefs-fs
    rvl-stsd: card welcome failed
    rvl-stsd: stsd_card_is_bad() true
    rvl-stsd: error = -1056964604

The linux code seems to initially load, it just does not seem to recognise the SD card. Unsure whats up.

Card works perfectly in Homebrew and on the PC, and it's a very high quality card:
    Kingston SDHC 8GB Class 4
    Newegg.ca - Kingston 8GB Secure Digital High-Capacity (SDHC) Flash Card Model SD4/8GB

I have also tried the card below, and it does not work either
    Kingston SDHC 4GB Class 4
    Newegg.ca - Kingston 4GB Secure Digital High-Capacity (SDHC) Flash Card Model SD4/4GB

Folder Structure added to the Sd card for SDLMame for the Wii (beginning from root)

    apps/sdlmame
    mame
    mameroms

below are files on the root of the SD
    boot.dol
    mamefs-fs
    readmenew.txt

Please note that there is no extention on the file "mamefs-fs" and this is the filesystem file that SDLMame is having difficulties loading.
    Any ideas ?
