Long time lurker, first time poster...

Currently I am successfully able to burn 2 different ISO's on 2 different burners on the same PC simultaneously. Oddly enough, I burn both at the same time at 8x, with NO problems.

I use Verbatim, RiTek and TDK -R's and my setup just works. Now, I do have 8GB's of 1066Mhz Ram and a Raid0 Setup, so performance, buffering, cacheing is not an issue. I turned off the pagefile and use physical ram and burning 2 a once just works (on my setup).

Now, I will say that when I burn two different ISO's simultaneously, the ISO's are on separate HDD's and each burner is using a different bus than my drives. My HDD's are on different SATA channels and 1 burner is external USB and the other is IDE. I tried using 2 IDE burners but i get buffereing issues. So if you want to burn 2 different ISO's at once, I recommend that each ISO reside on different drives and each burner is using a different bus (IDE/SATA/eSATA/USB/1394).

Now to my question. I recently added an LG 8162B as a secondary on my sole IDE channel. (Total of 3 optical drives now...)

I can Dump games no problem when I am not doing anything else on the PC.

I like to live on the edge, so do you think I could still burn 2 simultaneous, different ISO's AND dump a game with my 8162B?

I will go ahead and try it anyways, but wanted to ping this forum first to hear of any good retrospectives.

    Thanks all.

I have done everything i can think of to get the backups working using all the right software, and even bought a new lg dvd writer to burn the iso's, but they still cannot be read?, if i try to use rawdump to copy a previously dumped game (backup) i get a corrupt name i.e (>) or similar, is this normal? it does say that it has found a wii disk! only the name is wrong?! i am using an argon key with clip and all seems well in that dept after trying to get them to stay put, but the lights come on and the clip seems firmly installed ?, at my wits end now nothing seems to work! the wii version is 3.4e can this be a problem? dont know where to turn to next?!.

Check to see if there are any Argon Chip updates. With what you describe, you should be up and running.

If you are ever in doubt run it thru brickblocker...it will not hurt.
If you are talking about burning a dump made over wifi from the Wii......... well, you'll probably be talking about an "in region" game that doesn't require brickblocking ;-)

Bricking is generally caused by allowing a game update from a disk that is "outside" of your region, for example an NTSC disk being used on a PAL system or vice versa
Have you used the search function ? used the Tutorial section ?

Did you know you can donate to help the running of this forum ?

It's much easier / cheaper to get the LG DVD-Rom than replace a Wii drive.

Sick around long enough and you'll see the numerous DVD+R disc failures. DVD-R is the accepted media type for the system.

If it works for you, great. If your game doesn't load when others do, you know what to blame first.
i have used dvd r+ and dvd r- but i cant get any of the disk to work if there is some out there that can walk me thought it and help me it will be great i hav 3.4 v does that matter? i think i am doing some thing messed up when it comes to makin the dvd i use imgburn like every one tells me u can e mail me at psp3001@aim if u like or need to

    Ca

Many thanks to one and all for the great info in this thread and the forums in general! I managed to find a GDR-8163B at my local used pc parts shop for $10, and also bought a 25 spindle of Verb -R's for $5 on sale at a local electronics store yesterday (two great deals if I say so, myself)!!! Did a test rip and burn, and everything works like a champ.

I look forward to learning as much as I can about my new toy (Wii), and all the potential I can unlock therein.

*Question* Does anyone know of any drive brands/models that are just rebadged LG GDR-816x drives? e.g. I have a "Mad Dog Multimedia" DVD-RW that's just a rebadged NEC 3550. Please list any brands/models, if you know of any. Thanks.

    Copy of a copy

Not sure if this has been posted before.

You CAN copy a copy simple use nero
when you insert the copy it doesn't recognise it as a dvd...
simple use cd copy and bingo it works...

Was at a friends the other night and i install homebrew. etc
had one of my copies there to check gamma was working..
He wanted a copy of it so we tried copying it using nero

any old burner any old disc and it worked
the only thing is nero didnt recognise it as DVd..

Surprised the hell out of me when it actually loaded up...

    Sorry to burst your bubble
You have always been able to copy a back up....... Any disk copy program will work
It's "originals" that you'll need either an LG read only DVDROM or disk dumper
