I totally agree I would not subject my Wii to 2-3 hours dumping the image. DVD-R I find has given me less coasters overall. DVD+R you need to be more careful the type you pick. I have found after a lot of experimenting that DVD-R with GO5 Dye to date not one coaster with the Wii.

Say I have to try and use DVD+R. How do I set the booktype? I've never had to burn things before with Imgburn :/

All of my signatures are made by me. Request one!

Thanks for the advice fellas, I wont be ripping/dumping with my wii anymore. And I'm only buying -R's from now on. I used the +R's only because I had them laying around, and didn't know the difference at the time. I'm still curiouse about what the dye has to do with it though.

@ zerosyko I'm pretty sure you only have to set the booktype if your using dual layer DVDs (or DL DVDs), not all games require them. The two games that I've burned so far were Resident Evil 4 Wii edition and Metroid Prime 3. Both times I used a standard DVD+R (though I'm only using -R's from now on) and I never set any booktype. The only thing I did was made sure to burn them at a 1X or 2X speed, and so far they work fine.
    I think...

Does clicking 'verify' make the game not work? Cause that's what I did and got error 324 when running it with Gamma Loader.

324 has nothing to do with my guide.

324 can be anything from bad media (+R), a recorder to disc speed mismatch, missing cIOS36 or cIOS37, etc. Search the forums for your answer.

Hey, my DVD burner in my PC only recognizes +R. I thought it sucked before, but it may really suck now! In case you're wondering, I have an HP dvd writer 300i, updated to 300n

    Unhappy

I followed each and every step, used +R/-R media . I don’t get any error throughout the process, still nothing works. My wii doesn’t recognize the disc at all. What’s going wrong?

    Mackie71

the only way you can play these backups Mackie71 is if you WII is chipped (hardmodded) or software modded (Softmodded)

Soft modding requires you to install Homebrew channel then a back channel like gamma....

No modding no play backups....(WII will not see the DVD in Drive).
