What is your current firmware? (Wii Dashboard, Wii Button, Settings, it's in there)I have a feeling you're at the 3.3 or 3.4.

Also, on the website you downloaded from, is Mario Kart listed at UNDER 4.37 or 4.38 gigs in size? Is it at 2.79 or 2.80?

    that's what I thought ... okay, here's the explanation:

The 3.3 and 3.4 firmwares are detecting games that have been "fake signed". That means that the original .ISO game image has been modified in some manner. Here are some popular .ISO image mods ...

"RegionFrii'ed" - Take the .ISO and switch its native region coding
"BrickBlocked" - The removal of the embedded disc update
"Scrubbed" - The removal of dummy data blocks on the game image, to bring it down to size.

Your game was scrubbed. It's listed at 2.90 because someone compressed it with an application.

What to do? 2 routes ...

    1. Find a Mario Kart .ISO file that hasn't been tampered with.
    2. look in my signature and downgrade your machine to a 3.2 firmware. Lock it in with the applications listed in that thread also.

Personally, I'd go with #2. The applications listed in that thread are so useful. With one of them (Wad Manager), you can even install Virtual Console / WiiWare to your dashboard.
