    Won't Read Wii Games Disk

I have read a few posts saying about you need a lg drive to read the Wii disks. Does this mean any dvd reader made by company LG will read them an I can use my existing Samsung dvd-rw to write the games ?

The lg is only used to red the disks ? Buy the LG External DVD Drive and other CD & DVD drives at circuitcity.com

Would this work to read if i purchased it.

No. You need a SPECIFIC LG drive.

    GDR-8161B
    GDR-8162B
    GDR-8163B
    GDR-8164B

It's not any drive made by LG, it's one of those models.

Ok so I installed the 8163b and it shows in my computer D:/ that a dvd-rom is in there. When I try an explore or do anything to the disk though I get a pop-up saying that the disk is corrupt or in a file format that windows does not know what now ?

I did go to the lg website an the driver are the correct/current drivers.

EDIT : I Tried to put in the DvD- Movie SuperBad and it also says that windows cannot read this disk. The disk does show in My Computer/D: The dvd logo an the Name Superbad Unrated. I am guessing there is a codec pack that i need to get my computer to read these. Any recommendations ? I tried to play the movie in windows media player. I have Nero 9 Full Version installed. The newest one there is from there site. I get these pirated from 2BakSa.Net as well as anydvd to remove all/any copy rights on disks. Any software in the world is on that site full version. Just gotta know how to search for it.

Just tried to view the movie with the Nero showtime player and it said i needed netframe 3.0 or higher. So Netframe 3.5 is now installing will update after this.

I hope this don't kill my MMOGLIDER that i use to bot on world of warcraft. I know that made me use netfram 3.0

    Thank you Exupboy,

    I got rawdump 2.1

I put in my Call Of Duty: World at War Game selected the Drive and clicked start dump. Its now running an says DVD Name and 2 hours time to go.

It didn't ask me to select a folder or anything when i clicked on dump.

So what happens next once this 2 hour process is up ?

Where do the files end up ?

You will have a .ISO file ready for burning ... or other work such as brick blocking.

My Rawdump.exe is inside of a folder named "RawDump" ... the file ends up where ever the .exe is sitting.

If you can't find the .ISO in 2 hours, search your PC for "*.ISO" and it'll come up.

sorry not actualy used it my self my mate uses it, but you should end up with an iso file if you have trouble locating it click search and find it on start button .if you are copying from a different region you will need to brick block it for sure or it will brick your wii if it holds an update.

Are you mod chipped? If so, which chip?

    Are you soft modded?

Do you have the Homebrew Channel installed? If so, have you used "StarFall"?

These are all questions I need answered to determine what you need to do next.

Brick blocking is a term used when a program is run ontop of a .ISO file to remove the disc embedded firmware update. You do not want to lose that 3.2 firmware, so you can execute this.

BUT ... the newer firmwares (such as the 3.3 and 3.4) detect "fake signed" or altered games. They won't boot anymore.

If you run a program by the name of "StarFall" you can brick block via installed software. This is the easiest route since you don't have to mess with the discs.
