Does your new PC have the proper USB 2.0 to PATA drivers?

Are you using the front side or rear USB?

Is the USB dvd drive powered properly? You might want to try switching plug outlets.

it works fine when I use the drive in the usb external enclosure, I have probs when I install it in the new computer as an internal drive using IDE
