Question VERY slow dump of original games using CFG USB Loader (over 2 hours!!)

I am using Configurable USBLoader to dump my original Wii games to external Wii HDD. I am currently transferring/backing up Donkey Kong Country (3.34GB) and it is going to take over 2 hours. How could this be? I also transferred Wii Sports (.34GB) which took around 15 minutes!!

What is the cause for the slow transfer rates? When I have the Wii HDD connected to my computer transfer rate is very fast so I know it's not hte external Wii HDD.

    Thank You!

    bump

With the Wii HDD connected to the PC I get 25 MB/sec so it's not the Wii HDD. Could using IOS 222 hermes cause the slow transfer rate?

I'd like to update this in case anybody else has this problem. I upgraded to IOS 249 REV 19 and loaded USB CFG Loader in IOS 249 mode. Now dumping/backing games to the USB HDD is SUPER FAST!!!

    Woot!

Like I said in the guide's thread, you shouldn't have updated 249. All you had to do was switch to a different cIOS. IOS247,248, and 250 were all revision 20. You could have also tried 224 for v5.1.

I suggest you downgrade 249 back to rev17. You need it for utilities.

Edit: Btw, I ripped Metroid: Other M in less than an hour with 222, and it was nearly 8GB.

Ok so how do I downgrade without bricking because I read uninstalling IOS will brick my Wii? Also Why was data transfer so slow on 222 because I just ripped super smash bros in 27 minutes using 249 rev 19.

In cfg usb loader it said I need at least rev 18.

    Thank you for the advice,
    Chris

First follow the directions I posted in 4.3 SoftMod Guide. After that, read the FAQ on this guide, then download and install cIOS249[38]-v17.wad.

I installed the .dol you linked me to so now CFG usbloader runs in IOS 222 (shows on bottom right when loading). I tested backing up a game and it's back to a snails pace again Why is it so slow and what do you mean 249 v17 works better with utilities?

This is weird. I don't know why it is slow. Check your SD:\usb-loader\config.txt file and see if this is in it:
    Code:
    ios = 250

Try changing that to 224. If that doesn't work, just go back to the setup you had (249rev19 with the old boot.dol).

I don't get why this is happening. I'm sorry if I have just wasted your time.
