Solution / hints for dvd read error 324

My configuration: 3.2E, WIIGator Backup Launcher 0,3 Gamma and Installed Cios (with cios-Installer v7, the WIIGator-Version works also)

I also had this legendary error but not for every DVD I've burned and tried. I was lucky that my first attempt works so after the following problems occurred I knew that my WII configuration is correct.

I tried differend DVD-Rs (1st Verbatim 16x, 2nd Phillips 16x). The first attempt (Family Party 30 great games) was a Verbatim DVD-R 16x and this works. The following 2 burning attempts with two other games don't but these weren't listet on the comp. list you can find on internet. Then the 4th game works again and no. 5 to 7 not. I tried Philips and Verbatim DVD-Rs at different burning speeds. It seemed to work by random.

So I decided to update my firmware of my DVD-ROM-Burner (It's an LG ... GSA-4084N in a HP-Pavillion-Notebook). And I burned a Verbatim 16x DVD-R with ImgBurn at 8x Speed (I think half the Speed of the max. DVD-Media-Speed is the optimum). And it works.

I think the problem was the 4 years old formware of my DVD-Burner. It just didn't know how to burn new 16x-DVD-Rs and so it allways was a random success before the update. If you don't have a newer firmware try another (not so old) DVD-Burner (ask a friend).

It's really a burning problem! There exists no general solution because everyone has to find out his own combination of Media-Type, Manufacturer, DVD-Rom-Device and Firmware and burning speed. And you shouldn't run tasks (e.g. unrar an big archive, copy files, etc.) in background while burning because this could cause variable burning speeds. The WII seems to be very sensible with reading errors.

    Don't give up!

    I conducted an experiment where I burned the SIM City game with speeds 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12.
The 6x burn works fine for loading the game but during loading the data it give me an error.
I tried 6x with Mario game but it did not.
May be it is a problem of proper speed. So try it with me and keep information circulating
