Hmm.... 8pm and then about 10:15am... my math says that's about 14.25 hrs --- pretty sure the Wiihacks - Nintendo Wii Hacks Community - Forum Rules say something about 24 hours before bumping posts.

You can use them with Uloader but it's not a good investment , you will only play Wii games ( it's only a dvd reader , not a writer , Gamecube will not work , your DVD's with movies/mp3 will not work ) You may get an external HDD for around the same price and you're much better with that . USB Loading is preferred to disc loading .

    any evidence for this claim?

The ad says compatible with windows/mac etc, i would assume its a standard USB DVD drive in a sexy case, thats all.

OP: the choice is yours, external DVD loading or USB HDD. Personally i would go for a USB HDD but i have an older wii that allows me to rip my retail discs to HDD, this may not be something you can do!

You should be fine changing the drive board (although im no expert! so you might want to wait for someone who really knows to tell you the intricacies of this method)

Dave , what evidence you need ? Neogamma or WiiMC/MplayerCE do not recognise an external DVD . Does Uloader work with Gamecube ?

as far as i remember, GeeXboX supports external USB devices, including enclosures and DVD drives. I no longer have an external DVD drive to test it with.
