I had the same problem with DVD Dumper 1.2. I didnt realize that I had stand by turned on with my pc. I can recommend that you check your pc settings, and make sure that your hard drive is not set to shut down, and that you dont have stand by turned on. Hope that helps. If you have the appropriate IOS, and the program is running, then I wouldnt suspect that the Wii was shutting itself down, or going into stand by, so I would assume that its your pc. Again, just check your pc settings. Let me know if that works for ya.

Edit: (directed at WIZRDEYE) you will still use wifi, because its going to go thru your network. Even though its technically not wireless, it will still be looking for some sort of network and an IP address through your router. So just select wifi, and it will look for an IP address from your router, and it will connect thru the router, whether its wifi or not.
    Nice post.

thanks Rico1985. One more question/comment. I didn't realize that the Wii had built-in wi-fi. I only had it for 8 months now. Dah and I work with computers all day. I bought a nintendo wi-fi card for my PC. Do I need this to rip games if I already have a router and a networked PC?

Teke, if you already have a router, then you don't need the Nintendo WiFi card. Just configure the Wii to access your wireless network and then you're in business :-) In my case, it connects and gets IP address 192.168.0.121. So once I start wiihttpd, I just connect to that address from my computer using Firefox. Easy.

I'm actually just doing my first wireless dump now and it appears to be working fine. I'm backing up my Wii Sports (since that is the game we play to death, it will be nice to have a backup!).I'm at 45% (2.0GB) so far. It is a little slow for me, because my router is not so close to my Wii. I think next time, I will make a direct connection to the laptop and sit it near the Wii. Average speed has been around 120-200kB/s. I hope I don't fry my Wii!!!

how would you be able to dump a wii game directly to an external? i am interested because i have an ntfs format 500gig hard drive.
I just get an error that blacks my screen and has unhappy codes all over it before i begin the dumping process.
