    Some many DVD's wasted

    What I have:

    Wii Version: 4.2u
    Serial: LU394451846<-has box around it.
    Memorex DVD-R 4.7GB (Cool colors?)
    Neogamma R7/R9
IOS 249 (rev14) <-cIOS installer said it would be installed like this. Not as cIOS 249 (rev14).
    Disc ID: CMC, MAG, AM3
    imgburn

I've been trying to burn New Super Mario Bros. Wii. I've tried burning at 1x, 2x, 2.4x, 3x, 4x, and I'm currently testing 6x. Idk, about 5x though. I need some serious help because I only have 3 discs left..

Did you input the serial number into the drive chip database?
    What error are you getting?
Burn dvd-r at 4x the speed.

Try edit discs never had a bad burn yet and really cheap.

the user is having a burning problem
don't recommend inferior brands of DVD media
that will only add to the problem

In Neogamma R7 I get 1101 and in R9 I get 1252....I'm starting to think Memorex does=Fail. I mean I've seen people say their Mem. DVD-R's work. Tomorrow, I might get some Verbatims. Oh, and like I said, I tried 1, 2, 2.4, 3, 4, and 6, and 8! None, worked. Tried them on every setting on/off in Neogamma.

Don't know, I use them just fine, but not all wii console's are created equally. I have seen 1101 as the result of the d2-3 drive-chip. Also seen it when putting in a disk upside down.

The problem with memorex is that they dont make the discs, they outsource to other media manufacturers, which means while 1 batch of memorex DVD can be 100% perfectly good, the next batch, from a different factory might not work in the wii, thats why most people reccomend brands such as verbatim, its just less hassle

I have run across very few blank DVD's that are bad right out of the box. TDK and Memorex are brands that I have seen bad right out of the box.. You should be able to get a good burn from just about any disc, it's that the cheap kind don't last long, they degrade, some quicker than other. Here are some thing that affect how quickly a disc will degrade - the brand (look at the MID, manufacturer ID), the speed at which the disc was burned, how the disc is stored. But you cannot even get a disc to work, so you must be doing something wrong. Are you verifying the burn, this will let you know if the image on the computer matches the image on the disc. That is where I would start, just to eliminate it being a bad burn.
