    Game Updates

    Hello All,

First, I am new to the community. I've been modding things for a while, but just got a Wii recently and have installed a D2Pro9 on a D2E.

On to my question. I've updated to 3.3U which appears to be the most current release. I'm in the USA so naturally my Wii is NTSC.

I have a few games I've burned "Mario Strikers Challenge" and "Tiger Woods 2009" that show up as Game Update in the Disc Channel. I am hesitant to update since I am technically up to date and have read about the PAL updates bricking systems. I downloaded these as NTSC games, but I guess it's possible that they were mis-labeled... these are the only 2 out of 35 that don't work.

Can someone point me in the right direction?

Do you have the homebrew channel? If you do just open geko and load the game through that solved my issues

No homebrew channel. I actually updated my Wii right out of the box and then installed the mod. I got it for my son and he's not going to be doing any homebrew.

Use wiu1.1 or wum (search forum) to check the region of the game iso, sometimes it will tell you the original region of the game and if it was patched to another region. You can use these apps to remove the update then then reburn the iso again.

    Thank you!

btw WUM seems to be homebrew which I don't have.

hey buddy, wiu is a computer program for isos.
this has nothing to do with homebrew as far as the wii. it simply reads isos from your computer.

Usually they are correctly labeled, but its best to check with wiu for sure. For strikers especially I would recommend checking or removing the update.
