Wii Backup Loads, Get Wrist strap warning, then black screen.

    Hi,
I have a 4.2 PAL wii which is an older model (when it first came out about).
I bannerbombed it, then followed messie's guide to get cIOS249 back that was successful. Then I wanted to run a backup. I used DVD Dumper on my network, burnt it with ImgBurn (at lowest speed) and then when i load it with WiiGator's Backup Launcher (I have also tried NeoGamma, same problem) I see the wrist strap and nunchuk connection warning and then a black screen. I am not using Verbatim but I am using DVD-R. I have tried a gamecube game backup and it works. I have tried majority of the options and still nothing. The game is Super Mario Galaxy (PAL), the iso is 4.37gb on a 4.38gb disc. Any help would be appreciated.

So it's either a media issue or an ISO issue.

You could try loading the ISO with Dolphin, the Wii/GC emulator and see if it loads. You can also load the ISO in Wiiscrubber and IOSPatcher and see if it comes up as a valid ISO.
Not really doing much Wii stuff these days.

Dolphin worked. Does this mean there is a media problem?

Most likely. Try burning it again if you have a spare disc, and make sure you follow this tutorial. My backups weren't working until I set the burn speed manually.
