Just a few questions from a Noob - Wiihacks

Hi all,

Well after Mod Chipping my Wii and downloading my 1st Wii game my first few attempts at burn have not worked. I have a few questions that hopefully you guys can answer and maybe help others.

- Do wii games have to be burnt on Dual Layer R- Media ???

- Does the [MULTI] in Super Smash Bros Brawl[DVD5][WII][Multi][PAL].iso refer to it being dual layer and thus can only be burnt on Duel layer disk or Multi region?

- Are all disks Dual Layered ? If not how do you tell the difference?

I am using a new DVD burner (Is capable of Dual Layer), burning on Verbatim-R disks, (they are not duel layer) and tried burning the above file in Nero then Astroburn and then Imgburn

UPDATE : Reading other posts I see I need to use Dual layer disks and perform a Layer break 2084960. (Is this layer break the same with all wii disks ?)

no only ssbb is dual layer.
dvd5 means its the stripped down version so it goes on a regular dvd-r
the discs that are dual layer will say they are on the spindle, they usually cost $2-$3 a disc.

If your system is an NTSC wii then its possible that brawl may not even work for you depending on what chip you installed.
Just saw youre in auckland, so youd have a PAL system. Could also just be your burn. try a different game first see how that goes.

I tried another file and it worked fine, maybe a bad download or burn, I will try again later.

Another question though

IS there a list of what some of the [] things mean. ie

[MULTI][DVD5] and others??

not really MULTI means multiplayer and DVD5 means single layer. that's......basically it.
any more questions?
