GDR-8162B drive dual layer?
managed to get one on ebay today, bnib £34 inc shippin, which is dear I know...but hey cant find the buggers almost for love nor money.
is this drive dual layer? I cant see it anywhere on spec sheets. ssbb is the first game to use dual layer i think, and if my thinking is correct, many more are to be released dual layer.
anyone help? taaaaaaaaaaaa!

What did you buy? and Wii DVD drive or a dual layer burner for your PC..
I didnt quite understand...

a burner for pc that dumps wii orginals so I can back up my collection.
turns out the drives available from the vendor are lg 8163b and 8164b. 8162, they reckon will take an extra 5 days to sort out, so I plumbed for the newer model at no extra cost.
supposed to be slower than the 8162, but as im not gunna be dumping much, speed not really a factor... still not sure if they are dual layer.

I have one of those LG drive to dump the Wii/GameCube games.. not sure if it reads
dual layer discs.. as i have never yet tried.. hahaah

just spoke to vendor, they well aware of why people want the drive. lol...
he says the current software for dumping discs has experimental thingy-mi-jig on it that will dump dual layer..
also said the the drives are dual layer, so thats good!!!!

Huh.. you cannot burn with this DVD-ROM drive...
Any DVD-ROM reads Dual Layer..
