Cool Dumping Wii/GC games Via Wifi using Homebrew!!!!

WARNING: Installing WAD files and or custom IOS firmware is dangerous and might permanently brick your Wii. Only do this if you know what you are doing.
I take no responsibility if you brick your Wii.

so i dont know if this is allowed to be posted on here or not, but they have finally developed a homebrew application that uses either IOS5 or IOS249 that takes advantage of your Wii WiFi and you can download your backups straight onto your computer without a SD Gecko or USB Gecko! i have tested this and indeed it works like a charm, and i get consistant speeds of 400-500kb/s from my Wii. this also supports Dual Layer wii games for download, and it is much faster than the front SD dumpers that are out so i would give it a shot.

somebody has packaged this for download with instructions on installing everything.

MOD EDIT: Removed package containing Nintendo copyright code and replaced with package without custom IOS. Please do not ask for the Custom IOS or post any links to it, doing so will get you banned

but i will keep everybody posted if there is anything new =]

Edit:

Instructions for dumping.

once you have the custom IOS and Wiihttpd installed. you want to go into your homebrew channel, and launch Wiihttpd. once the network has initialized it will give you your Wii IP Address

in my case, my Wii IP Address is 192.168.0.196 but yours will probably be different. make sure you have your disc in that you wish to backup and on your computer open up your web browser, and goto [Only Registered Users Can See Links. Click Here To Register] (in my case [Only Registered Users Can See Links. Click Here To Register] )

you should now see a screen with these options

if you are backing up a Single Layer Wii Disc you choose "Wii SL ISO", Dual Layer ISO would be "Wii DL ISO" and if it is a gamecube disc, then "Gamecube ISO"

right click on which ever link and goto Save Link As or Save target as. very straight forward. wait till its finished and enjoy your Wii backup without a SD Gecko, USB Gecko or LG Drive!

Uninstalling Custom IOS

as for uninstalling the custom IOS if you installed IOS5 currently there is no uninstall feature, but for the IOS249 you can get the uninstaller from [Only Registered Users Can See Links. Click Here To Register]

the uninstaller is very straight forward aswell, if you were able to install the custom IOS you will be able to uninstall it, just copy the uninstaller right into your apps folder and launch it in the homebrew channel.

Hope this helps!

More Edits:

I Have made a new index page for the WiFi Dump if anyone is interested, cause i got sick of looking at the very bland text on my web browser

Just download
[Only Registered Users Can See Links. Click Here To Register]

unzip, and add the www folder into the root of your SD card. then when you have the wiihttpd loaded goto [Only Registered Users Can See Links. Click Here To Register] =]

Sounds very interesting. But (and there is always a but) the instructions on EXACTLY how to do this are not provided. Only instruction on installing the custom ISO and the WiiHttpd are given. Once they have been installed what are the step-by-step instructions on actually making a back up straignt to the PC? also Exactly how do you uninstall the custome ISO and wiihttpd?

TIA

Wonderful, thanks for taking the time to write up the instructions. I vote this thread to be a sticky for informational purposes.

Waninkoko released a new DVD Dumper (v1.2) that now dumps to either SD, USB mass storeage (although no one has been able to get this to work) and Wi-Fi. The Wi-Fi dump has been reported to give speeds of 500 KB/s which is slightly faster than wiihttpd. It requires that Custom IOS249 be installed. Anyway, you can test it yourself.

WiiHttpd works on my machine. However, Dumper 1.2 only shows SD & USB device. How can I enable Wifi with Dumper 1.2? Cheers.
