Bricking My Wii... what does it mean and should i be worried

I'm still new to this.

I've downloaded games and burnt the ISOs to Magnavox DVD+R discs (i also have some on verbatium DVD-Rs). I have a modest collection of games.

I stumbled across a program called Wii Brick Blocker AFTER downloading all my games (so they were all burned straight form the ISOs without "Brick Blocking" Them). It says to run it on your ISOs so they dont hurt your wii.

What is "bricking" and should i be concerned about hurting my Wii (which has a D2C2 chipset)

Yeah bricking is a pretty bad thing although im not too familiar with the symptoms of a wii brick but on other things is basically renders your console usless. so im guessing that it when you turn your wii on the light will turn on then turn off.
here's a vid

Yes you can. It typically happens if you use a game that is not from the same region as your Wii that contains a firmware update.

Some games will ask you to update your console before it will play. If you update your console with a disc from a different region you run the risk of bricking your console.

If you're that worried my advice to you is to download games from your region only.

I have a PAL Wii and use brick blocker to confirm the the ISOs I download are from the same region (i.e. not NTSC US or JAP) before I burn them to DVD.

When used for its intended purpose brick blocker essentially removes the update from downloaded images. Again, you only need to do this if you download an ISO from a different region to your Wii.

Hope this helps

Then, dumb question just to be 100% sure.

My Wii is from North America, this means my games are NTSC, correct?

As far as I know there are two types of NTSC formats for the Wii, NTSC-U for American consoles and NTSC-J for Japanese consoles.

I have a PAL Wii so I don't pay too much attention to NTSC ISOs. Maybe someone else can confirm whether my statement above is correct.
