Us DVD Dumper - Too much strain for the lense?

Hey Wiihacks members, I had a quick question.

I rarely, I mean rarely use my Wii DVD Drive. Most of my games are on an external HDD. I wanted to transfer three of my discs to my HDD, but I figured it could cause to much strain on the Wii. I wanted to know if just transfering three games will cause any abnormal activity with the lense. Thank you.

it shouldn't damage it, the wii lens isn't so fragile it'll break immediately I think the problem lies in the fact that the wii wasn't meant to read DVD-R or something like that in any case you should be fine.

Once I downloaded the ISO I was going to put on my HDD. I'd rather use the HDD rather than the dvd drive.

Is there a logical reason why I'm only getting 10-60 kbps over the wifi connection from the DVD Dumper?

Poor wifi signal? Multiple devices accessing it? If you have a computer then you can just rip the game using IMGBurn its faster and easier.

I was wondering how to do this? Would I just connect my drive to the comp? Or is there a better way? Thanks

You have to format your external harddrive with WBFS Manager. The program is very user friendly imo.

I thought you have to have a specific LG Drive to rip the game on the pc?

I believe that is correct there are four specific models you can use to read disk on your pc but they arent the easist to come by. i just use loader gx to copy my games to my hdd it is fairly fast and for me the simplest way to do it. hope this helps
