Sorry guys for being noob here. But what exactly is Scrubbed and what do i need in order for it to run? The difference between scrubbed and a full game? Which would be better?
I have just recently soft-modded my wii i have firmware 4.1U Upgraded from HBC originally 3.4U. I installed NeoGammaR7 and have the current cIOS stuff i think.
To the best of my knowledge, a scrubbed game is an image that has all the unnecessary files that are not needed to run the game removed. It also removes all the padding from the image.
Take Super Paper Mario. The actual game itself is less than a gig that I remember, so the rest of the image is padding to make the image 4.7G.
I have only had few problems with scrubbed images.
There is only one tool that I am aware of for this called WiiScrubber, there might be others. I have had some scrubbed games that work fine at first but then reach a point where they won't play, but these have only been a few. Chances are the game is ripped, scrubbed and uploaded but not tested to make sure it was working properly.
Some early scrubbed games were said to shrink the size by removing extra features, video, audio, etc., but I can't confirm this.
After scrubbing the game image will still show 4.7G but, like Modderman said when the game is compressed (rar, zip) the size shrinks down considerably but when extracted again it comes out to 4.7G.
You don't need anything special to run it, just burn it to your DVD or copy to your USB drive and load it from the disc channel like a normal game if you have a hard-mod or from NeoGamma or SoftChip or any other loader if you have a softmod.
A scrubbed game is usually just as good as a full game but I'd prefer the scubbed image since it makes for a faster download. I like sources where the users have already left feedback if the image works or not, and if there are problems, how they fixed it.
Hope this answers your questions.
so , playing scrubbed games in a hard mod should be no problems ?
