Hey all, I Got the iso for Resident evil the darkside cronicles, And burned it to a DVD-RW. I'm using neogamma r8 beta 15 and every time i load the game, It gives me the disc read error 1048. Any ideas why?

    It's probably because you're using a DVD-RW instead of a DVD-R.

    Hope I've helped.

    Same here but I used DVD+RW =/

Gonna see if I can get a DVD-R to test...

    Why does it matter though?

It makes all the difference. See this link for details: http://www.wiihacks.com/dumping-burn...not-dvd-r.html

Use DVD-R, with Imgburn, at 2.4x speed for the best results.

Is there no hope at all for using dvd backups on a newer wii? I also go the 1048 error using a dvd-r burned at 4x. So are the votes counted...and a newer Wii will not read dvd-r at all? I have not been able to get any Hollywood DVD to play in M Player CE or any backups to load from the NeoGamma.

I have a newer wii, i got it at the end of November. I can use Verbatim DVD-R on it though

Tested it and it worked, but I still prefer the USB loader anyway.

ive just done a friends wii 4.2e ios 248 r8 rev 17 and i get the same problems. when i use 4.1e, every game works aslong as you use image burn @4x and dvd-r.any brand has worked for me.
i think 3.2 or 4.1 is best, but using the usb is better.
