can you just copy from a backup? or do you need the special LG reader?

I was wondering, my friend has about 20 games that on backup disks. Can you just copy them since they have already been dumped, or do you have to have the LG reader and dump it then burn it? It will just save me a lot of time rather then redownloading all those games.
    my systems:
    xbox360, PS3, Wii (d2ckey), PSP (m33), ds lite

    Any Writer!!!

    Beg to differ!!!

If the game has already been dumped and converted into an Iso using RAWDUMP then you can use ANY writer to burn it, you only need the LG to read in the raw data.

I agree that you need the specific LG for originals.

I use a Pioneer 108, 110 and 111 to burn my copies - NO PROBLEMS AT ALL!!!

how do you read the files from a backup? When I insert a backup game into my dvd drive my computer can't read the file. Are there any special programs that can read the files on the backup dvd?

    Thumbs up

just image it and burn.... doesn't really matter if you have the proper software to read / explore the iso.

just use nero dvd copy, or other progs

Thanks for reply but I want to check if my backups have the wii brick blocker on them because someone else gave them to me. Is there another way to check if these backups have the brick blocker on them?

In order to create an image of an original Wii game on Nero, am I right in thinking that you still need a LG burner?

no...you can use just about any burner to create an image or burn a wii dvd.

you only need the special LG dvd-rom drive if you were planning to RIP originals
