Well, I will read the previous post carefully but they told me that if the minimum speed of my recorder is 4x then I will never be able to record at 2x.
The same, if your maximum speed is 30x you will never write at 40x
    Is that true?

    1. Put your blank DVD-R (it doesn't matter if you use the cheap ones) in the DVD drive. Let IMGBURN read the type of DVD you are using. After it recognize the DVD, click on the green running man at the right of the speed setup.(See attachment 1)

    2. After this you will see a window where you will add the DISC ID by clicking on the green arrow besides the DISC ID max speed. Then set the max spped of the DISC ID to 4x. Do the same with the DEVICE. Specify the device you will use and set the speed to 4x. Click add or update to ensure the info is in top part of the window.
At the end click OK. (See attachment 2)

    3. You must be now in the main window. Just browse for your iso and start burning. Make sure also the write speed is at 4x. (See attachment 3)

    It works flawlessly. Good Luck.

Hey, there's no need to use 2x. It will take too long. All my copies are burned at 4x without any problems.

Go over the guide slowly and make sure that you specify your DVD burner speed and the DVD speed. (Hit update and make sure they are specified in the table above !!!)

If you still get problems, then use SONY DVD-R or MEMOREX DVD-R, both are cheaper than Verbatim. If you do it correctly you will not get the speed miscompare error.

Again, you can burn at 4x, it's perfectly ok.

You are still doing something wrong. Make sure you hit UPDATE or ADD, depending if it is the first time or not, and it will stay at 4x. It will not go over it.

You can use cheap ones but they break ur wii's laser if used alot... Always use Verbatim or Taiyo Suden if you play backups often!!!

x2 is better for a chipped Wii

Well, I have a chipped Wii. "Animal Crossing" doesn't work at 4x. This is the favourite game of my daughter!
I believe I follow perfectly the instructions, but...
Tomorrow I will bring another laptop to try.
My mates in my job (IT site) they all tell me I need to burn at x2....

In my case I had been using Memorex and Sony exclusively for two years now on a constant basis and still working fine. This is just an option for people, but is good your point.

People can also go with USB loading and they can eliminate completely the DVD expense. I started using it and it's fantastic.

Believe me, I got the game burned at 4x and works perfect. What chip are you using??

If you can go with USB loading it will take all your burning headaches away.

Just follow Wiisoft Mod guide. It's pretty straightforward.
