ImgBurn wont let me burn any lower than 4x, even if i press 1x or 2x it says 'write speed miscompare' im using verbatim dvd-r
only 2 out of 6 backups ive tried to burn have worked and im getting a bit fed up with the wii saying unable to read disk.
Ive tried burning at 4x and 8x
oh and im using wii drive key

imageburn will read the speed of the disk and determine best lowest speed.
never had a problem with mediarange dvd+ R and imageburn ;)

This is a common mistake of everyone who use IMGBURN. You can't just adjust the writing speed to 4x (for Wii Games), but to avoid the auto adjustment of the speed due to the type of DVD disc used for burning, you must set the max speed for the disc and the drive. Here's what to do:
1. Put your blank DVD-R (it doesn't matter if you use the cheap ones) in the DVD drive. Let IMGBURN read the type of DVD you are using. After it recognize the DVD, click on the green running man at the right of the speed setup.(See attachment 1)
2. After this you will see a window where you will add the DISC ID by clicking on the green arrow besides the DISC ID max speed. Then set the max spped of the DISC ID to 4x. Do the same with the DEVICE. Specify the device you will use and set the speed to 4x. Click add or update to ensure the info is in top part of the window.
At the end click OK. (See attachment 2)
3. You must be now in the main window. Just browse for your iso and start burning. Make sure also the write speed is at 4x. (See attachment 3)

My daughter has now a New Wii. i am trying to copy disks with games fo her. Everibody here says that have to burn a speed x2 but he minimum write speed for my recorder is x4
I tried to follow the instructions you give here to fix an speed of x2 but at the end the speed the disk is written is x4 and this is horrible as I need x2!
do I need to find another slowest recorder or I could to fix the problem in an way'
