SSBB subspace mission crash

After beating Kirby in adventure mode in subspace emmisionary (the first battle), the game crashes and an error screen appears telling me to eject and restart. I've played multiplayer fine for ages now, but I can't get the subspace mission to work.

Using an iso burnt to a Verbatim DVD-DL. The iso is 8,511,160,320 bytes, and I used the layer break suggested in the stickied DVD burning guide. I am running 4.1 and using NeoGamma to try and load it.

Anyone have any ideas why this might be happening/how I can fix it??

I've been reading around, after having the same problem, and think I have an answer. It is probably the fact that it is burnt to a DVD-R DL disc, where it should be burnt to a DVD+R DL disc, since the -R cannot set Layer Breaks, iirc.

I used the Verbatim DVD-R DL discs too. Just waiting on another +R to come in.

I'm having the same problem after trying to run a backup through USB Loader. Multiplayer plays fine but as soon as I try to do the solo mode whether I choose Mario or Kirby I get the green screen saying to restart and eject.

I've tried backing up the game several times from the original game and cant get it to work.

Works fine from the CD but just not from the backup through USB

hahaha couldn't wait. went out and bought some +R DL discs, will update when its done

UPDATE: Okay, kinda wish I had waited, because burning at 2.4x using +R DL discs did NOT fix the problem. Anyone out there got a solution?

I had exactly the same problem yesterday and fixed it!

Even though I already had 222 installed I followed this guide again [Only Registered Users Can See Links. Click Here To Register] and everything kicked in to gear.

Run ssbb using IOS222 or 223
Be sure to turn off deflicker and run the game in 60hz (if pal) if your game crashes when playing as mario.
