Hi this is my first time burning an iso and I have looked at other threads but I still can't get my games to work. The first game I tried was wii sports resort but looking at the other threads it seems I have to soft mod my wii first to play wsr. I don't have homebrew channel, neogammer etc. installed on my wii.

So I decided to burn another game instead: dead space extraction. I have a pal wii with version 3.1e which is hard modded only (d2cpro chip I think). I downloaded the dead space extraction iso (pal version) and ran wii brickblocker first. Then I burned the iso using imgburn onto a verbatin dvd-r. When I inserted the dead space extraction dvd into my wii I can see dead space extraction on my disc channel but when I load the dead space extraction game up all I get is a black screen.

I have to unplug my wii to get my wii working again. Does this mean dead space extraction can only be played via neogammer as well like wii sports resort or am I making a mistake somwhere? Pls help me

Sounds like an IOS problem, your Wii is at 3.1 so your missing a few IOS's. Look into getting them installed. Wii Sport Resort, there is a sticky [Only Registered Users Can See Links. Click Here To Register] on how to boot that game.

The thing is I can play backups of mario kart wii and super mario galaxy already (they were given to me when I had my wii hard modded). So is it still an ios problem? Sorry in advance if this is a really simple question but how do i upgrade my ios and which ones should I install? Do I just run system update on my wii?

Okay. when you had the earlier games the ios for those games were already installed. Now you have two options. 1 install a backup launcher in WAD form(easier access) and the proper ios to use it. (249?forgot may edit) 2 install newest ios' to be able to play from the menu (and see the opening thing on the channel.) noteption 2 only for hardmodded wiis.
