I bought the SeaGate FreeAgent GO 320GB External Hard Drive, and boy, it works like a champ with USB Loader! I have another External HD, a Western Digital 1TB, and even though its listed as "works" in the GBATemp USB Compatibility list, it is a headache for me, and compared to the FreeAgent HD, the WD HD is so slow. Plus, you need to plug the WD one into a power outlet, so it is not an external hard drive in my eyes.
I was disappointed when I tried the WD HD, but yesterday, the FreeAgent one impressed me. There is another thing I like about it, I can finally take my Wii games EVERYWHERE, and not have to worry about any errors.
Thanks, SeaGate~!

i've been thinking about replacing my wd passport with a seagate. have you tried it with wiiflow? i don't wanna switch loaders and if the seagate works with it i'm sold.
Haven't tried it with WiiFlow yet, will try it tomorrow; however, works great with USB Loader 1.5!
ALSO: DO NOT UPDATE YOUR WII! (4.2 MAKES HOMEBREW GO BYE BYE, POSSIBLY FOR GOOD )

That is, until technology advances to the point where they don't need to be. Some day, that day is coming fast, I believe.

HAHA. Mine worked excellent as well...for three months. Drive died about 4 days ago. All of my games are gone, and all of my files I had on the drive. Seagate doesn't provide data recovery with warranty, either. I'm going with Western Digital the next time I buy. Look up the problem; it's pretty common with FreeAgent.

Across a number of sites, Western Digital HDDs have the least difficulty in hacking situations whether it be the Wii, or something like AppleTV/slingbox adaptations, etc. The most reported problem HDD is the Seagate HDDs. I'm glad you were at least able to mount your Seagate on the Wii and hope it lasts awhile for you.
Another issue to think about is the externally powered HDD vs the size and portability of a USB powered HDD. Unlike a PC, the Wii was not designed to power an HDD through either of its 2 USB ports, I doubt that the power fluctuations as well as the continuous power load is something that works well for the longevity of a portable HDD or the Wii.
Make sure you have your games backed up. I have 2 1TB WD externally powered WBFS-formatted HDDs-one for backup of all my games and one for Wii daily use.

Are you saying you had a partitioned drive?
Then maybe you got a virus????????????????
I have my 320gb SeaGate as one partition, so I MAY be fine.

Nah, most people are experiencing the problem that just have it on their computer. It's a corrupted file issue; When it wants to happen, no avoiding it :/
Don't be so quick to thank Seagate, I have the Seagate FreeAgent Desk 500GB, and that thing was nothing but problems until Waninkoko released cIOS38 rev14, now it works like it should. Yes, it plugs into the wall and is not internal.
