    Question regarding gamecube burns

    Greetings,

I've burned 2 games now, mario sunshine, and the paper mario game. Nothing fancy, burned at 8x with imgburn on individual discs.

Burns fine and everything, but I notice the discs are sort of warm (not hot, but...) after a few minutes.

I wanted to start playing the paper mario game, but it kept telling me there was no save chip in slot A. Is this just a issue with it being a burned game, or do I need a 'save chip' in order to save?

Tried googling it, but was having no luck.

Appologies if this falls under the wrong forum.

Do you have a Memory Card in Slot A?

EDIT: If you dont have one then buy one so you can save your game. lol

    Yup, I'm a complete moron.

It's been so long, forgot that memory sticks were required. lol

However, is it normal for the discs to be warm after a minute?

Not sure about how warm the discs should be but I havn't encountered any serious problems yet.

Could be warm from where the lasers been really focusing reading the disc and or the heat the consoles giving off. Try burning the disc at slower speeds, keeping the lens clean where it doesn't have to work as hard and keeping the Wii cooler. I've done slight heat comparisons of my slower burned disc and faster. I started out burning my games at 8x, but eventually decreased the speeds with later games to 4x then 2.4x speed burns.

I don't even bother making GC burns I just play my originals that's a lot of DVD-R disk space to waste if burned on a regular DVD size disc.

Nintendo' most inspired core game titles are stuck overseas. Nintendo Of America sux when it comes to the localization of these game titles as they court with their new found casual gamer/soccer mom audience this console generation. Thus indirectly promoting the growth of Homebrewing & basically telling their core audience if they want it, mod chip or Homebrew it. Thanks Nintendo! My Wii and its functionalities have never felt more complete than when I took my first sip of the Brew. - Brewaholic

You dont waste a DVD-R if you make a multi game disc like I do with most of mine which I boot using Wiigators GC backup Loader.

I've thought about that, but do the menus for the individual games have any issues loading and being selected? I wouldn't know cause I've never burned mutiple GC iso before on one disc or have been interested enough to read up on it.

I havn't any issues with the menus loading and I've found that some games only boot when they're on a multi disc game.
