You probably lack a few IOS that the game requires.

    Install IOS 38, 53, 55 through wad manager IOS38-53-55.rar

    Here's the situation.

Black screens upon loading games usually means that the game refuses to load because it cannot load the IOS the game is asking for.

With a chip there's a reason or two why this might be the case:-

    1) The chip is blocking the update form disc.
    2) The game has been update blocked or modified.

If the chip is blocking the update then you'll need to change that to proceed, unless you are trying to run an out of region game with which you'll need to source one for your own region.

If you have homebrew then you can patch with the IOS listed an it should proceed.

I am having this issue too. I have a Wasabi (I think) mod chip installed.

The recent games that I tried loading, like Punch-Out, fails to load. I see the splash screen and hear the intro music. But when I proceed to start the game... it goes into a black screen and freezes there.

I guess the firmware is outdated since this only happens on newer games. All my old games like Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles works fine. Would ios update fix this? Or would I need to do a firmware update?

    Thanks!

    Ios

Is there a list of what IOS files are required for which games? I also have several that load fine with audio and BLACK SCREEN.

Tried installing the suggested IOS files but didn't work for me using Neogamma R7 on Wii 4.1U.

wii-newb - Loading music, splash screen suggests a problem elsewhere. If your IOS were in need of updating the game would not even get to the strap screen.

uncjeffs - No, someone would have to get every game, open the ISO and analyse each update partition and record the results. It could work as a community effort but is something like this really needed?

cIOS 38 r14, cIOS222, IOS 38, 53 ,55, 56 ,57 are more than enough to get most if not all games working at this time.
