2011 error, no vunerable IOS on your Wii - fix this here http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-...s-any-wii.html

You'll also need a custom IOS, there are several versions to choose from. The latest is cIOS38 rev 14, available in my mediafire, click my signature.

Installing a softmod invalidates your warranty. It's possible to revert it back to virgin state though if it develops a fault.

Wiis get bricked all the time although the common factor tends to be users installing or uninstalling things they should not have. Before you do anything major always check and you'll be fine.

Current brick protections include bootmii and preloader, bootmii is very useful when installed as boot2 but not so when installed as an IOS. Preloader is the next best thing.
