Exclamation About cios installer & how to use burned wii games

    Well this is my problem:
My friend burned a wii game (Punch Out!!) onto a dvd-r for me, it worked on my friends wii, but he has a program called backuplauncher 0.3 to use it & dvdx i belive, well i got home and gotta try it and then i put in the dvd it says it not gonna work, so then i download backup launcher (already have dvdx) and try the dvd with it, it says i need cios installed, so i searched on google, and found it. You needed it to use backup launcher (i missed that) So i putted it in the sd card to, and open it from homebrew channel, and this black menu come up:

Something about that do you whant to take the risk, press A or else if you have fear turn your wii off.

My menu is system 4.0E and my friend have 3.2, do i need to downgrade my wii? and/or will ciosinstaller work on my 4.0 wii?
I have homebrew channel & dvdx, sd card.
I think there is a world market for maybe five computers.

You should use this guide to be able to play the latest game without a modchip: NEW AND IMPROVED WII SOFTMOD GUIDE !

You should NOT downgrade your wii if you just want to install cios.
i would recommend you to install bootmii and make a nand backup before proceding with hacking your wii, just to be safe!

    Cheers

If not all, most homebrew apps ask you this but since you are just installing cIOS24, i don't think there is any chance of wii getting bricked since the system menu and its IOS are not being touched.

Installing any cIOS on a Wii is generally a trouble free procedure as it will install as an unused IOS on your Wii, which does not interfere with anything. For example cIOS 38 rev 14 installs as IOS249.

I have installed and re-installed several cIOS on my 4.0 Wii and had no issues.

There's no need to downgrade to 3.2 to install your cIOS.
Not really doing much Wii stuff these days.

okay, so i dont have to worry about the "take the risk" sign?
Also, cIOS is that cios installer, what you need to use backup launcher 0.3?
