Softmodded Wii but no backups work

    Hey guys,

I installed update 4.1 and followed the softmod guide and everything installed fine. However, I tried three different backup loaders and I always getting Disc read errors and such. I have tried Verbatim and Memorex DVD-R with 1x speeds and 8x speeds. I tried two different games and sometimes the game ID and name pop up but I still get errors. Any ideas what I should try or do?

    thanks

Okay so I just installed that cIOS but same deal, Game ID/Title shows up but then some bogus error. Does it matter which cIOS a backup loader uses? Geogamma uses 249 and I can't change it but I was using another backup loader that let me change the cIOS but regardless, I had the same problem.

The cIOS installer i gave you installs IOS38 as IOS249 so it should be fine. You could also take a look at this:

    That should fix your problem

I honestly can't recall. Is there a way to delete everything and start over? Maybe I kept installing things over others and it might have screwed things up?

Never delete cIOS/IOS under 200, you will full brick wii,
cIOS and IOS can install over top,
any title deleter can remove cIOS, or WAD/Channel if you have done it through wii menu (sloppy),
What version wii, what tutorial did you use? and where from?

You can install the cIOS and reinstall over it many times without screwing it up. When you start Neogamma it says at the bottom which version of IOS249 you have installed. You may want to check to see an make sure that the cIOS38 rev14 installed correctly. It should say IOS249 (rev14).
