Wii is asking for PIN then goes black?

Hi all, just downloaded and burnt the Simpsons game and all looked well, it appeared in the disc channel etc. When i click start you here the audio as you'd expect but then it asks for my Parental Pin which i then enter - after that the screen goes black and the Wii needs switching off via the power button to do anything else........bit strange as all my other ISO's have burnt and played just fine. Any ideas?

A Guess but someone probably setted up a parental pin on your wii to block certain games

Thanks for your input, is it possible to remove the Pin issue altogether off of the Wii? Or is a Pin compulsory?

That could be correct. It could also be that the game requires an update that your chip is blocking (if you have a modchip that is). Could be that you need to either patch or change the IOS number (if you have a softmod)

Something doesnt make sense. If you have a softmod, then explane how the game can show up in the disc channel? The only way that happens is if you load backup launcher gamma and then reload the game using hooks which then the game can be played through the disc channel. Hold on a minute. I might have another idea on what it is. That game might require an update. Let me explane how my wii works and maybe youll understand. I have firmware 3.2U with starfall installed. One option with starfall is to block all disc updates. Now this is great because I can take rockband (which "requires" an update) and run it through backup launcher gamma and it will bypass the update. I can then take that same disc (its an original "real" copy btw) and run it through disc channel and the screen will go black. This happens because the wii wants to update but starfall wont let it thus causing the black screen. Now I dont know for sure if this same thing happens if you take a backup "burned" game and run it through the disc channel using hooks, but I wouldnt see why not. So there is a way to solve this. I forgot to mention that starfall can only be used with 3.2 so if you have something different, dont even ask about starfall. First try the game through the backup launcher and see what happens. If it happens there, then you need to get rid of that copy because youll need to burn a new one. First download iospatcher. This program will tell you what ios number a game uses. Its a dos looking program so in order to get it to run, right click on the game and click on open with and click on iospatcher (or if that doesnt show click browse and click on iospatcher). If the ios is 9, then type in 249 and press enter. If the ios is not 9, close the program. The other program youll need to download is wiibrickblocker. This program you should use on all your games. This program removes the disc update. One more thing.... Give me some info on your system.

Google IOSPatcher, Download, Unzip then drag the ISO on the iospatcher.exe then it will ask you to enter the IOS number, i think you need to put 249

you only need to change the ios if the current is 9. Trust me on that one.

Jason, your spot on my friend just played game via the gamma loader, works perfect. I have another wii that i updated to 4.0 and used the latest SD card exploit (not twilight). My question re: this is - how can i get a gamma loader channel installed as all i have on that at present is the ability to run backups via the disk channel. Thanks for such concise advice.
