Play scrubbed wii isos?

Hi everyone,

I was wondering, if i use wii scrubber to reduce the size of my Wii iso's, then burn them the DVD using something like IMGburn, would it still work?

or do the files have to be exactly 4.8GB or whatever it is?

I have a Wii with system version 3.1E, homebrew channel and cIOS v9.
presumably if i burnt them to DVD i could just load them straight through DVDx?

are there any homebrew applications you reccomend for doing this?

Thanks

I have one downloaded ISO that I burned to disc, and found that it was scrubbed. It does play thru Backup Launcher 0.3 gamma. I believe that you need to have DVDX and cIOS rev9 installed for the Backup Launcher to be able to recognize burned games. I've used IMGburn and Nero 7, both work.

DVDX is not an application that you run, it just makes it to that your Wii can read burned discs. You need something like backup launcher to play the games. You should also be on firmware 3.2, there are guides on upgrading/downgrading, just use the search box at the top of the screen.

I dont have dvdx and never have and all my backup games work fine. I just used EOC's guide in the tuts section.[Only Registered Users Can See Links. Click Here To Register] I believe if you scrubb the game its just so you can put it in .rar form so its size will be smaller to download, transfer to hd for storage, burn multiple games on dvd to store them, etc... when you extract it , the game will be regular size.

Success!
I am now on 3.2E.

For anyone looking at this thread because they also need to do this, use [Only Registered Users Can See Links. Click Here To Register] guide. It has loads of great links and easy explanations.
