Backups Not Working

Hi I'm new to these forums and this is my first post. I recently modded my wii according to this tutorial

And did everything step by step. I used to have version 3.4 for the firmware.

I also installed Game Cube Backup Launcher-GCBL as a channel for my wii in order to play GameCube backups and my imports.

My imports now work fine but whenever I put in a backed up disc and start the loader, my wii simply resets to the main menu after trying to read the disc. No errors show up, the wii just resets and nothing happens.

At first I thought it was an issue with the backup loader and tried several others with the same results. Imports now work, backups don't (The imports are originals). So I'm wondering if maybe my wii just can't read dvd's or I did something wrong?

I use Maxell DvD-R for burning the ISOs as well as imgburn. The disc can go up to 16x speed but I put it at 4x ( I doubt this is the problem).

Please I need help on this, I've been trying to solve this problem for a long time and honestly don't know what to do.

The wii backup game I have tried Gamma Loader 0.3 is Mario Party 8 and the same exact thing happened. That disc was a DVD+R though.
